I bought two of these mats to put under the litter box. They are made exactly as I imagined. My cat used to have a habit of throwing trash all over the floor, but now it gets stuck in the holes in the carpets, which makes cleaning much faster. This mat is advertised as waterproof/pee proof. I got this because I have an older cat who manages to miss the litter box every now and then. I was skeptical when I saw the sponge material but this product has such great reviews saying it is water and urine resistant. No, that is not so. When she missed today, it got soaked and fell to the ground under him. Now the damn thing is getting soaked in cleaner, but I guess I'll have to throw it out.

We really liked the toilet mat. It's a smaller size, so we use it with a smaller tray. If you have a big tray, then it's too small. This makes a big difference in the amount of junk strewn around the room. You can see in the pictures how much dirt it picks up. Both of our sphinxes are webbed and good at finding debris, so that makes a big difference. Easy to clean and has been peed on once and we hosed it down like new. Definitely recommend for smaller rooms.

TLDR; waste of money. This garbage mat came folded in half to fit in a square box. This has created a crease that prevents the mat from properly compressing and spilling dirt - it just folds over its crease and spreads dirt everywhere. Even when the product was heated and an attempt was made to straighten it with weight, the crease did not disappear. I like this mat, it's just what our cat needs. He has a deep tray and kicks a lot and he will fall to the ground. I used to have a small rug with a paw print on it. We replace it with this one and I see a big difference. It makes the area much cleaner and collects rubbish. He can brush debris from his paws and get stuck in holes.
