🚘 TrunkNets Front Bumper License Plate Bracket for Subaru Outback 2008-2020 Review

I am very pleased with the front bumper license plate bracket for my 2018 Subaru Outback. It looks great and adds structural integrity to my license plates. The pre-drilled holes lined up perfectly with the holes in my bumper so installation was quick and easy!

The black rubber pads on the back of the mount do not fit the mount well. Both of mine fell off and as they were black and lying on black pavement somewhere they were hard to find and I wasted a lot of time. Also, the bracket is really good and easy to install once you find the bumper indentations.

They are very well made! I have already ordered a few as my wife and I lease new cars. The only problem will be that on newer vehicles you'll have to drill through the bumper (or maybe use an elbow greased screwdriver behind it!). Easy when you're around, but potentially intimidating to others. You have to do this no matter what brand you choose, so you might as well choose that brand because it's the best, and get over it and drill those holes!

As directed in the instructions, insert two mounting screws into the two manufacturer provided cutouts in the front plastic bumpers. But you only screw screws into soft plastic. It has now been installed for a few months and appears unworn. But I wonder how they will work in the long run. I think if I see those two bolts showing a bit of play I'll just replace them with nuts, bolts and washers.

This bracket attaches directly to the plastic bumper with 2 large self-tapping screws. I recommend drilling 2 1/8" pilot holes for the screws first rather than trying to drill screws directly through the plastic. Place the two rubber pads provided between the plate and the bumper. VERY IMPORTANT! DO NOT TIGHTEN THE SCREWS TOO TIGHTENED!The bumper is made of fairly flimsy plastic.The screws will easily tear the plastic if you overtighten them.If you see the license plate is tight,don't tighten…
