Lightweight plastic housing and shallow depth (approx. 0.75 inch) facilitates installation. The light is nowhere near as advertised, although I suspect the plastic couldn't cool anything brighter anyway. Feels like cheap $30 plastic I could probably order square aluminum housings, I was thinking of extra/taillights on the van, oblong lights would be best for those Application , they work and are brighter than the stock reversing lights. Attention buyers, these are plastic housings, not metal! When I opened the box it was a great shock to me. While these were one of the few surface mount lights I could find in the size and light output I needed, they're obviously cheap. I wish they had longer wires like most LED lights with 1ft heavy cord. It's just tiny, maybe 4 inch long individual wires on the back.
