CRL Glass Running Plier: Optimize Glass Cutting and Breaking Efficiency Review

When used as described, these pliers work very well. With a good notch on the glass and a center mark that matches the notch, the pliers give a clean break on straight lines and curves.

I moved into a house and the previous owners had mirrors that didn't fit so I was able to cut out the mirrors and make the cut with no problems! I love these pliers, they made the job so much easier!

It won't cut glass thicker than 1/4, although the specs say it can cut 3/8 glass. But it cuts well with 1/8 thickness. I returned these and bought 1/2" CRL Plate Glass Forceps and they cut very well at 5/16.

Great tool. 5 stars for glass over 3mm thick. If they made a replacement trim for 3mm faux glass then it would be best in class I think. I got it working at 3mm by adding a bit of tack to take about a mm of what it takes and now I'm moving on to the pliers. This is a quality tool.

I bought these tongs for a special project - an 8" x 3" cathedral window that cost over $1,000 just for the glass. I had to make curved cuts over 4 feet long. The pliers worked great. They are light, precise and powerful. Yes they are more expensive than many others available but for me they are worth it. I didn't screw up a single cut.

Good enough for narrow cuts. Reasonable price. Different push bar configuration so takes some getting used to but nothing exceptional. Good tool for mosaic workshop. They need to be promoted more widely so that more mosaic builders are aware of this option as an alternative to traditional pliers.
