These adapters have been specifically designed to take your old PC power connector and convert it to work with SATA drives and the like. The 4-pin pins were wobbly - a problem I remember from the golden age of tech support, when I had to make my own cables for something this simple - when I originally tried to connect them to additional power supplies. my pc's power supply, but once you put the pins in the holes, the connectors mate snugly and they all work great. I officially have too many…

Avoid them and buy from Monoprice

I usually try to be honest when writing a review but this is the first time I've been completely disappointed. None of these adapters worked. Each of them failed to connect to the Molex connector. If it had still been within the return period they would have been sent back. In 23 years of working in IT, repairing, refurbishing, restoring and building PCs (and a large number of parts I've used in that time) this is just awful. Avoid them and buy from Monoprice.

Perfect for powering any drive

I'll never get enough of these. If you're upgrading some older machines or converting spares to HTPCs or NAS, PSUs may only have one or two SATA connectors and I'll be looking through my parts baskets for a few of these adapters. I bought a few packs and they are exactly what they should be. I suspect that the fire reports are from GPU miners using SATA power supplies. SATA has a design draw limit of 4.5A (54W at 12V, much less than PCIe 75 connectors), and with a Molex > SATA > PCIe…

Super loose stilettos! **EDIT**

No fan. I have worked with computers for many years and can honestly say that I have NEVER had a problem connecting a Molex to SATA cable. Installed 2 of these this weekend and have been struggling with connections due to incredibly loose contacts in the plastic case. The quality control of this product is terrible. To be honest I am considering returning them if I can bother to get them out and the exhaust sending them back. When I submitted my first review, Cable Matters customer service…
