Required for Surface Laptop 2

I need this for Surface Laptop 2 to output to LG Ultra Widescreen Monitor. The regular minidp HDMI adapters/cables I tried didn't work either when plugged into the docking station or directly on the surface. After some research I saw many of the same questions and answers pointing to an active minidp hdmi adapter. What have I lost after 2 adapters and a cable? Found and tried it and it worked as advertised, allowed me to display 2560x1080. It automatically detected the connection to the minidpโ€ฆ

Mac Mini HDMI fixed at 2560 x 1080 = 10 stars, unicorns and rainbows!

Fixed issue with my $18 Mac resolution instead of Apple recommended $160 resolution. I have a mid 2011 Mac Mini and a 37 inch LG ultrawide monitor. I also have a desktop PC and a Surface Pro that is also connected to a monitor. Monitor inputs: DP, 2x HDMI and DVI. Surface Pro is connected to DP and PC is connected to HDMI. Both easily project 2560 x 1080 across the monitor. The Mac Mini never worked when connected via HDMI. It was only 1920 x 1080, which looked like 4:3 on a 16:9 TV. Afterโ€ฆ

Working but needs to be configured on some Macbooks with SwitchResX

The magic of three AMD monitors!

This is what you need to install and run your third monitor with a Radeon graphics card. After hours of trying to get it to work with a passive plug this did the trick! Not sure what problems others have had getting it to work with an AMD/Eyefinity card and saying it's not working/active. . Maybe a setting in the Catalyst Control Center? I know AMD has several "certified" connectors listed on their website that I assume should work. I'm using two HD 6800s connected to Crossfire, so I wanted toโ€ฆ

Strange twinkling and intermittent black screen, doesn't sit well.

There were problems with the last order. Hooking it up to my projector got sparkling for lack of a better term, I've uploaded a video showing what I mean. At first I thought the problem was that my projector had too much gain. I also had intermittent black screens, it just seemed like the signal was going out every few seconds. I was willing to blame the projector or the cable, but taking this adapter out of the equation fixed both the twinkling and black screens. Also, I've bought a few ofโ€ฆ
