Description of Cable Matters Snagless Shielded Ethernet Computer Accessories & Peripherals

High Performance Cat6a, 26 AWG, RJ45, Shielded Ethernet Cable provides universal connectivity for LAN network components such as PCs, computer servers, printers, routers, switch boxes, network media players, NAS, VoIP phones, PoE devices, and more. Cat6a performance at a Cat 5e price but with higher bandwidth; SSTP/SFTP (Screened Foiled Twisted Pair) shielding can prevent electromagnetic interference (EMI) and reduce crosstalk noise. A Category 6a Ethernet patch cable is also referred to as a Cat6a network cable, Cat6a cable, Cat6a Ethernet cable, or Cat 6a data/LAN cable. Future-proof your network for 10-Gigabit Ethernet (backwards compatible with any existing Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet); Meets or exceeds Category 6a performance in compliance with the TIA/EIA 568-C.2 standard. The shielded connectors with gold-plated contacts and strain-relief boots provide durability, and ensure a secure connection; Bare copper conductors enhance cable performance and comply with specifications for communications cables. Flexible and durable Cat6a cable with high bandwidth of up to 550 MHz guarantees high-speed data transfer for server applications, cloud computing, video surveillance, and online high-definition video streaming.

Not 10GbE Friendly: Computer Accessories and Peripherals

Well, the 5% of people who don't like these cables are right. They are NOT CAT6A. Their quality is lower than most CAT5 cables and the data transfer rate is terrible. The failure rate with this cable from Cable Matters is terrible: over 75% data loss! I think the 550MHz bandwidth rating is essentially a lie. I replaced the cable with a known good quality CAT5E and the data rate jumped back to the expected 10Gbps with expected low error rates for a 20ft run. I even got a cheap 250MHz 5E/6 cable,

Pros
  • Feels Good
Cons
  • There are nuances

Not copper but copper clad aluminum CCA

This is false advertising because it says "Bare stranded copper conductors improve cable performance and meet communications cable specifications." It's not bare copper, it's bare, copper-plated aluminum. Big difference in performance and two completely different things together. DO NOT PUT THIS ON YOUR HIGH SPEED NETWORK! They only get 28% throughput.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • I will not say anything

Great, durable Cat 6A cables

I just upgraded my house with Cat6A cables (see also Cable Matters, see [UL Listed] Cable Matters Blue cable - 1000 feet), it doesn't do any Sense to end up with inferior cables. From my router >> switch >> patch panel >> wall keystones, all devices and cables are Cat 6A shielded, so it makes sense to use the same terminating resistors on the end devices. Connections are very easy to make (and more importantly, break). They are well packaged and of the 50+ cables of varying…

  • Great for me

Best Cat6/6a cables I've tested

Love them. After switching to Gigabit service through my ISP, I became obsessed with maximizing download/upload speeds to experience true Gigabit service. I have compared them to Vandesail Category 7 flat cables and Category 6 Mediabridge cables (although their specs say they are also Category 6a) and Category 8 cables from an unknown brand. They always gave me the best/fastest of everything and I never had any trouble connecting with them. I tested the output directly from the modem, and each…

  • Handy thing
Cons
  • Easy maintainability

Not Cat6a Cables and Interconnects

Don't buy from Cable Matters. A lot of reviews say they didn't get a category 6a cable, but a cable that looks more like a category 5e cable. Yes, you are right. The cable I received says Cat6a but it was actually a poor quality Cat5e. Cat6a must always have a slot and must have a Cat6a RJ45 connector that is staggered rather than linear.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • So far so good

Very thin! Buyer Beware NOT CAT6A

After reading the description and jacket of these Cable Matters Cat6a Ethernet Cables, the manufacturer will convince you that they are very high quality Cat 6a cables with two types of best shielding ( STP/FTP) . ). You are not! These are very thin, thin wires with poor shielding and not many twists and are indistinguishable from Category 5 cables. If you are reading this I would like a refund, false advertising.

Pros
  • Very Impressive
Cons
  • Confused

Crazy fast! Especially with the length of the cable.

For those of you who are younger gamers and a little less "physics savvy", here's a quick lesson on electromagnetism. The longer the cable that the signal has to travel through (your internet connection), the weaker the signal (your internet connection). The more additional electrical cables surrounding the cable run (power cables, TV cables, etc.), the weaker the signal. I ordered it with a max length of 200ft and found that my ISP's max speed is only about 6Mbps. . This is phenomenal given…

  • Acceptable

  • Long delivery time

Very poor quality cable, Junk6a.

I had to cut off one end of a 50 foot cable I bought so I could connect it to the old existing coax so I could pull it out and run it up in the attic and into another room. This gave me an opportunity to study the section of cable I had cut. As you can see from the photos there is no center slot as you would expect with a quality Cat6a cable. The foil is wrapped around each pair of cables, not all of them. There are very thin aluminum spacers (not sure) covering the outside of each insulated…

A hero will rise from the darkness!

Tired of maintaining a reliable WiFi connection through three walls, a few rooftops, and a bunch of grumpy poltergeists, I braced myself for the unthinkable. I would run 150 feet of cable from the router to the computer. In the midst of the Mississippi summer heat, I dare to enter the derelict attic hell. I would drill through the walls. I crawled through tight spots in a sweat. I would have cursed like a sailor stung by a hornet and kept banging my head against every joist and rafter, but I…
