Priceless! My weapon of choice

I've used the metric system my whole life until I had to work on an American made device and found everything in imperial units. No one can imagine how difficult it is to convert fractions to metric values or compare fraction sizes with a metric programmed mind. I had to use my fingers like I was back in kindergarten instead of an engineering degree! In my misery I see this caliper with shots imprinted on its stem in its original X/Y form, oh my god why did it take me so long to find this life…

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Upgradable

A near perfect solution for testing, measuring and verifying

The caliper comes in a sturdy case with a spare battery and is well packed. The measurement accuracy seems to be within 0.0002 inches of my Starrett caliper. That's as close as I can read. The display is larger than most and easy to read. to make small adjustments. Also look closely at the photo of the caliper. The on/off and unit change buttons are very small and awkwardly located. For the money it seems like a good deal. But if you need a more durable design, spend more.

Pros
  • HUGE, EASY TO READ DISPLAY - features the largest major digits available (a full 5/8 inch high), making it the most convenient way to display and read meters you can buy
Cons
  • So far so good

Great Hobbyist Caliper - Great Value

This is a five star tool considering the low price and good functionality. I've owned this tool for a year now - and have used it many, many times (restoring vintage clocks, vintage bikes and many other projects). It's not a professional tool and it doesn't cost hundreds of dollars. But it is a very useful tool for home and amateur use. I've compared this tool to two professional calipers - I usually get accurate readings - or - 0.0005 inch +/- deviation. I especially like the large LCD. The…

Pros
  • PRECISION AND PRECISION - 0.001 inch (0.02 mm); Resolution 1/64 inch (0.01 mm) 0.0005 inch Easily switch between blocks with a single button.
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Doesn't hold zero. on digital calipers

I bought this caliper because I liked the look of the large display and the display itself is nice. Unfortunately, the caliper itself has a serious problem. If you're using vernier calipers, the zero will occasionally jump up or down .200 inches, which of course will shift your measurements by the same amount. In my case, I use it to measure the length of an ammo box, so a .200" jump in length is really obvious, but can be disastrous in other applications. If the zero bounces it's easy to fix…

Pros
  • CONVENIENT Fractions – Inch fraction mode shows at least 1/64 for easy use in real world conditions; Also measures/converts to decimal inches and millimeters
Cons
  • Non automatic
