Case broken, screws bent completely unusable

The packaging seemed adequate but the case was broken into small pieces. One of the set screws was bent. The case is molded from very thin and very fragile cheap plastic; just cheap shit. I threw away the case and replaced the screw. The price was cheap - I should have known better. Rather spend a few euros more and save yourself trouble and hassle. Don't waste time buying this junk.

Cons
  • Packaging is ugly

Feels like a normal caliper

It looks like everything will be fine because I didn't get a lot of opportunity to use a caliper when I had the coronavirus and was recovering. When using it for the first time, the gears seem to be a bit stiff. But indeed, for $20 it's safe, and if it doesn't fall apart along the way I'll be delighted. One day when I have nothing to do. haha, I will oil and polish the guides with 2000-3500 grit sandpaper and see if the engagement of the dial is adjustable.

Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

I use them for woodworking so they don't have to be super accurate. But the readings obtained only when the jaws open and close appear to be random, by about 0.007. Also quality control is poor as both calipers I bought (yes I bought 2 of them) had a loose tension spring in the head (a copper strip that moves along a rail and 2 very small slotted head screws in place is held). . It took me about 15 minutes to align and secure each one. I think to try something more expensive and better.
