we returned it. All right, decent enough, just found better. Lid snaps into place, no strings. Fairly large holes, but probably not big enough for a parmesan shaker.

We used to have a regular stainless steel shaker. After a while, the salt corroded the spots inside. It won't happen with that.

What can I say, you put salt or pepper in it and if you turn it over and shake it it comes out. I have had these in the past and they are well suited for everyday commercial use in the kitchen.

They're perfect. I bought four. Two of them a year ago and two recently. They have proven to be a great product. I like to see how much product I have in my shaker, the handles are big enough for men, easy to fill, I have two containers for salt, one for pepper and one for powdered sugar. A bit pricey but worth it. My 8 year old shakers still look and work like new.

No need to shake vigorously! Excellent goods! I love consistency! The last review said the cover is difficult to remove or put back on. Obviously this is not a problem. The shaker is so easy to fill and I don't want the lid to fall off when I shake it and it never did. My 7 year old dropped it and so did I and the top has NEVER come off. My 11 year old fills the container without a single problem. Excellent goods!
