One year later. Best accessory

I have run 50 miles and several marathons in this camelbak and I love it. It's very light, durable, feels premium in every way, and holds enough water. Love it. Edit: A year later and it's still my go-to hydration vest. I've ridden it at least 700 miles and really can't complain. I just received a 1.5 liter rear pocket tank and it fits perfectly. Well done CamelBuck.

  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Not the best

May not be enough for outdoor recreation

We don't run, but we ride/kayak/hike. I think a bit about holding "trekking poles" fooled us. It's definitely more of a running vest than anything else. The vest itself is very well made and conforms to usual CamelBak standards. What was a little wrong is that it was billed as a hydration vest. We have a few other CamelBak vests with a full bladder and mouthpiece instead of two rather small bottles on the front. It feels a bit wrong and while I appreciate there being room in the back for aโ€ฆ

Slim Lightweight Waterproof Front Vest

This is a well-made, extremely lightweight waterproof front vest suitable for hiking, walking or running. The chest straps are highly elastic to accommodate a wide range. - There is no water tank on the back like many camel vests. The water bottles on the front are like a balloon and can be squeezed when empty. One advantage of bottles over a tank is that bottles are easier to share with others. The quality of the material is ultra light mesh and thin nylon. Build quality is good, but it mayโ€ฆ

Very comfortable but could have been built better

Good for the first time. The vest is light, soft and comfortable. The mesh is breathable but I'm wondering how much warmth will the heel counter add in the summer months? I think having a plastic frame that you can attach to the back to remove the back panel from the back would be a great addition in summer and Camelbak designers should experiment with that. Second, a pocket on the back lets you slip a small hydration bladder in, so you don't have to use the small hydration bottles that comeโ€ฆ

Bottles not rear tank

At first I thought it looked like the vest I bought for my son. My 12 year old asked for Camelbak after his 14 year old brother got one and kept raving about it. I caught this one, but we were quickly disappointed. This vest has two front pockets for water bottles. It has a rear reservoir pocket, but the rear reservoir itself is not included. As for the price, I find that a HUGE issue, especially considering the 'extra' tank isn't cheap either! Disappointment aside (it was my fault for notโ€ฆ

I'm not a fan of bottles or pipes. The vest is comfortable.

I have been using the Nathan Hydro Vest for many years on 6-30 mile runs. When I'm not running long distances I use a Camelback 0.75L bottle and when cycling I use either a large or small Camelback bag. So I was ready to try the Camelback Hydration Vest. First, I misread the ad. I thought I would get a camelback with a reservoir and a hose. Not correct! This vest comes with two collapsible 0.5L bottles and no reservoir. I haven't tried installing the tank and hose, but it's possible. Took aโ€ฆ
