Works with Ubuntu Linux and Raspberry Pi

I bought this because I lost my Raspberry Pi Wi-Fi dongle. I wanted to use this to convert some WiFi connections to Tasmoda with Tuya-Convert. I ran into a problem installing Tuya-convert on a Raspberry Pi, so I ran an Ubuntu 20.04 virtual machine on my Proxmox server. I just passed the wifi key to the VM and it worked without adding drivers. Tuya-convert worked fine on a one-key Ubuntu virtual machine.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Works out of the box on Ubuntu, Mint and other Linux distributions.

Just plug it into your Linux machine and it runs. You don't need to install drivers. I tried another brand that was more than double the price but Linux didn't see them. It only costs 10 euros and works perfectly. I ordered another one to have on hand when I switch my daughter's old Macbook Air to Linux. This continues until the driver works with the Mac's native adapter.

  • Robust construction

Works with latest OSMC versions

I was so disappointed when my Pi lost wifi after the November or December 2019 OSMC update. They have dropped support for the dongle I've been using for several years, apparently due to poor support from the manufacturer. One of the reviews here said it would work so I added it to the order to put it on free shipping. Connected it to the Pi and it worked right after turning it on. So if that bothers you, this will fix it.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Slightly dented

Works with PI 2. Suitable for network products

I have an old version of Raspberry PI - 2 - that came with TP Link [Microsoft gave it to me]. While the Win IoT image included drivers, Debian did not. I played around with the correct drivers but my kernel version was not supported. After playing around for a few hours, I decided that I was more interested in programming for my project than fighting Linux. Connected this sucker - immediately recognized my WLAN. Edit the config file to get the ssid + password, done. Thanks CanaKit - works great

Fits Raspberry Pi

After trying unsuccessfully to use a similar D-Link wireless USB adapter with my personal RasPi, I was a little wary of choosing a similar option for my daughter . RasPi, but I'm pleasantly surprised that it works out of the box. There was no need to load additional drivers, mess around with the command line, or enable some obscure settings. I haven't tried using it on a computer with a different platform. I might get another one for myself when I get a chance.

Pros
  • Stylish and Modern Design
Cons
  • Contact Seller

Works fine, wrong MAC address

I'm using this WiFi adapter with an old Pi that doesn't have a built-in adapter. This adapter was immediately recognized by the latest version of Raspbian and it still works fine. However, when I scanned my network with the "Advanced IP Scanner" program, I noticed that the MAC address of this adapter looks like this: 00:0F:00:72:FE:84, that of the now defunct Legra Systems, Inc. While this MAC address mismatch does not cause problems for the ME, it could pose a problem in a larger organization.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Some difficulties

This is a WiFi adapter that "just works " for Linux!

If you're a Linux user, you probably know that Wi-Fi problems can be annoying and confusing at times, even for those of us with computing experience. I've used several adapters that should work out of the box with Linux but didn't work and in some cases didn't work at all. This is the only adapter I can plug into ANY Linux computer whether it's running Debain, Fedora, Ubuntu or even desktop, laptop, microcontroller etc and it works every time. If I need a wireless adapter, I'll buy it, period.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • A dubious purchase for the elderly

Amazing Supported

I bought this dongle for a first generation Raspberry Pi running Rasbian. I wanted to turn it into an Octoprint server for 3D printing, but my WiFi router is on the other side of the house. I figured I would have to download something to make it work, but even with a very old Raspbian install it worked pretty much straight away! I believe the dongle even came with instructions, but just by using the GUI interface I was able to set it up. Even shortly after I started installing Octoprint and the
