📝 Canson XL Series Sketch Pad for Charcoal, Pencil, and Pastel - Side Wire Bound, 50lb - 18x24 Inch - 50 Sheets Review

Everything about this sketch pad looks great to me except I was expecting the paper to be white instead of cream. The box was slightly warped and as a result one of the corners of the notebook is slightly wrinkled but I don't mind but I bought this paper for 16x20 projects to frame with a white matte card stock and it turns out in a big way collide. Nowhere on the cover of the notebook and in the description does it say the paper is off-white.

Paper quality is good, cover and spiral are strong enough to protect my work. Easel. The back isn't rigid enough to hold the entire album upright if you want to lean it against something and pull it in. The perforated edge works pretty well, but I usually use scissors anyway because I don't want to risk it.

The paper inside is terrible. It's like using the eraser too much on newspaper and the paper gets blurry. I like my other Canson sketchbooks, but I definitely avoid the "Sketch" redline. The green line "Pattern" is much better and "Universal" is my favorite. In my sketchbooks I use Prismacolor Colerase pencils and standard HB mechanical pencils almost exclusively, very rarely do I use a brush pen or marker, but most of the time I just draw with a pencil. This came to me in perfect condition, it is exactly as described, I only have several of these Canson XL Mixed Media books and have found that I prefer this paper. , due to its heavier weight. There's nothing wrong with this product though, it's just not a sketchbook for me and my love of Prismas and Copics (Honestly I like Prismacolor markers more for their fine point which is perfect for my needs but I'm swimming against that Electricity, I'm afraid!) As a student, I like to organize and transcribe my notes on nice, clean, orderly worksheets using colored and black gel pens (G2, if that matters). I can't do that on regular printing paper because it's so thin that the ink just bleeds through, and printing paper is thin so it's not as comfortable to constantly look at or endure repeated touches while browsing.
