Great book for learning this knitting technique. Pictures and instructions are clear. I've recommended it several times to others who wanted to try it to spice up their knitting projects! It's fun and a little shaking. Thanks Sheila for the relief!

This book assumes that you are familiar with European knitting. There are very few patterns and, as mentioned, almost all hats are. I thought I read that there are two versions of each hat; a version simplified to two colors. This would be very helpful for a beginner knitter, but not in a book. Maybe after getting help with continental knitting I'll come back to this book and find it useful, but it seems expensive for what it is. I now have several library books for free.

This book is an excellent book to start coloring with Fair Isle. The instructions are detailed and clear, covering principle and execution, and easy to adapt to your own knitting style. The templates are attractive and well-written, with explanations and tips where needed. Fair Isle scared me until I bought this book; I am pleased to report that my first project looked like the work of a much more experienced Fair Isle knitter and I was confident I would tackle a number of other Fair Isle…
