I bought this because I am building a battery bank with 2170 cells and the specs say it can work with .20 nickel strips. It barely made it to the job and stopped working after only 5 bars and now has an E-2 error code that won't reset and there is nothing in the manual or anywhere that says how to reset what it is rendered useless.

They claim this welder delivers 11.6 kW and 60 joules but it doesn't. I believe 11.6kW is based on 5.3V x 2000A and 60J is 11.6kW x 0.005s. In fact the welder is only putting out about 1200A and 5.1V so 6.12kW or 30, 6 J. It will weld pure nickel with a thickness of 0.15mm, but 0.2mm is optimistic. I bought this from Aliexpress and the seller told me it shouldn't handle more than 1300 amps even though it was advertised as 2000 amps.

Bought to try capacity welding. This welder welds nickel strips 0.1, 0.15, 0.2 perfectly. He continued to work without waiting for the caps to charge. You can drive as fast as you want and he will keep up. I also hardly notice any heat, like my transformer welder. The wires on the manual welding machine didn't even get hot! I could never get the lever to make decent welds. This welder has performed well when mounting a 10s4p 18650 40 cell battery.

Does exactly what it says it does. It has a wide output current range. The table "recommended thickness" is incorrect. I had to deviate from the recommended range to get a solid spot weld. Maybe my nickel is impure, but most likely it's just bad ranges. A crappy $50 spot welder made stronger spot welds than the recommended chart settings. I installed it higher and I got really good spot welds with this product. I will soon test it on 0.20 mm thick nickel strips.
