Absolutely in love with this

Absolutely in love with it! I bought these when I was starting to learn Balboa and I needed something with a heel. They are quite comfortable, wore them to dance exchanges, put them on and danced for about 4-5 hours every night. A little soreness but that's too much to expect with prolonged wear. The soles are notched leather and have held up exceptionally well for as long as I've used them. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

It's a very nice shoe and we liked its style.

These shoes were bought for my daughter HS. Her foot is a bit wide but after reading other reviews I thought we'd order one and give it a try. It's a very nice shoe and we really liked its style, but it's a very narrow shoe. Even if we had ordered half a size larger, I still think it's too small. I recommend this shoe for people with narrow to medium feet. Many Thanks.

Pros
  • hands free

Low quality. Two couples lost a heel.

I'm an actor and I bought these shoes to wear on stage. After very little wear, one of them broke off their heel. Two years later I needed another pair in this style and the price was good so I decided to take a chance as the poor quality of the first pair was an accident. HAPPINESS DOESN'T EXIST. My second pair also lost a heel after exactly EIGHT HOURS of light wear. I didn't run or dance in them, I just walked and both pairs just broke a heel.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Bad quality or defect?

We bought these shoes on August 26, 2018. They were worn once a week (so worn very little) for an hour-long dance class and four performances in a musical in mid-October. The outside of the right boot is peeling off and peeling off. The shoes appear to be defective as it only happens on one shoe, but they have the same signs of wear. There have been several reviews mentioning the same issue since purchase, so maybe this is a "bad batch" of shoes. We have never had a problem with Capezio shoes…

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Not bad

These shoes, however. in Ballet and Dance

I've worn them a few times for Lindy Hop since I bought them two weeks ago and I'm LOVE. This is my first pair of dance shoes and they are perfect. The longest I've worn them was about 4 hours and aside from almost making a tiny blister they were perfectly comfortable. I didn't even have to break them in - I wore them straight away to the concert. I usually wear a 9.5 but read the other reviews here and ordered a half size up to a 10 and they fit perfectly. They make my legs look so petite and…

Shoes with good character

I would call these shoes standard Capezio quality (and size) so I'm not talking about the brand but the fit. The medium width works for me (similar to the XX width in the Grishko or Bloch X2, to use the pointe shoe analogy), but if you're a little wider, you'll want the wide version. The only issue with their fit compared to the Junior Spotlight I danced in as a kid is that the arch is higher and while not uncomfortable it doesn't bother me either. I have big bows so I need a bow insert for a…

broken heel! Do not buy!

Black Capezio pictured is 11 years old and heavily used. The tan purchased here from Revain is 3 weeks old. I have other jazz and character Capezio shoes that are many years old. I don't know what happened to Capezio, but please don't risk buying her shoes again. The heel broke during the dress rehearsal when I was walking down the stairs. I fell and it hurt. Needless to say, I've successfully descended many rungs in my 11-year married couple and many other characters and non-characters…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Low repairability

Overall NICE SHOE. 1/2 SIZE SMALL (see review)

Classic Capezio quality, nice leather that stretches and flexes easily, and a classic thin leather "dance" sole (not a thick leather outdoor sole because it's in first line is a dancing shoe). If you are a dancer you may prefer a tighter initial fit that stretches over time. But if you are not used to it or don't use them for a suit etc, you can order them 1/2 size larger than your street shoes. Dance shoes tend to run small, and they're no exception. The only reason I would recommend 1/2 size…
