Bought this to have a long sleeve option for dancing in the winter. First, my 7-year-old daughter is tall and lean, 53 inches and 55 pounds, so I always order her a size 8-10 to avoid "tandems". Bought to match a costume. We went to Disney in the winter. We didn't want to wear a jacket over her princess dress so we bought it as a base layer.
