Cap easily fits 2 liter plastic bottle

Cap easily fits 2 liter plastic bottle. However, the ball lock assembly is difficult to snap and secure to this carbon cap. I have a different brand of carbonation cap that I have used with the ball lock assembly with no problems. I expected this to be a good replacement, it works once you attach it, but it's not easy to work with.

Does not work for home brewing and winemaking

Not suitable for bottles. I should have read the other reviews more carefully. It seems to meet the *old* soda bottle standard, not the new one, but the product description doesn't give any warnings. Unfortunately I had to buy a lot of gear separately to get my CO2 device working so it was too late to return it when I realized it was a hack. Do yourself a favor and buy an unbranded metal cap made in China. It will work better than this seemingly installed one.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Seems to be the best but not that good

Now I've bought 5 of these. One worked very well, one didn't work at all, and the other two were difficult but seemed to work. I use them to carbonate water. Who works well has 5 stars. Unfortunately, in my experience, they only work well 1 out of 5 times. There is a metal version from another company which I thought would be a good idea so I bought 3 of these. Each of them fell apart after 1-5 uses, after which it cannot be repaired. So CarbaCap seems to be the best, but it's only 3 stars.

Thread not as described

Thread form is not the same as a standard 2 liter plastic bottle. I already had a stainless steel version of this lid for use with plastic, but needed the plastic version so I could carbonate drinks in glass containers. The stainless steel cap can break the glass if overtightened. Any form of thread is larger than the standard 38-400 used in most bottles. I ended up using a wheel sander to sand down the threads and I used epoxy to glue the cap of a regular soda bottle into the hole. This works…

Low price = low quality

I used it to make my lemonade in 1.5L PET bottles. so that it runs straight. It has a hard plastic ring on the front of the part of the cap that fits snugly on the top of the bottle, it needs to sit on the top of the bottle and over time I've had to tighten and tighten this cap to get a good one Seal. After about three months of use, the plastic cracked along the mold line, rendering it unusable. I've since bought a one piece stainless steel block with a rubber seal across the top of the…

Does not support the new standard. PET Bottles Shipped Today

When I received my Carbacap I was surprised to find that none of the PET bottles I had bought in the store would fit. I immediately went ahead and bought a few more PET soda bottles from different brands, but again I was surprised to see that Carbacap didn't fit in any of them. I emailed carbacap support and was told that manufacturers are moving to a new econocap that will not work with carbacap and they will not be releasing a new carbacap to support the new standard. I'm disappointed that…

Requires planing to fit.

A little disappointed with this cap. Out of the package it didn't fully match the quick release ball valve bushing I have. It slipped 1/2 inch and stopped. I noticed that my eccentric has a small mold line at about that distance. I also saw that the rim of the tip of this blue cap is about the same diameter as the o-ring. . I found that the edge caught and stopped at the mold line, so I beveled the edge with an exacting blade. At this point, the blue lid could slide almost to the "click" point,

Good drink cap with a few flaws

I bought three of these about a year ago and now that I've used them for a while I feel comfortable giving a review. I have problems. Screw them onto a soda bottle to get a good seal. It looks like you'll have to loosen and retighten it a bit, maybe to line up the threads perfectly so it seals. Maybe it's a problem with the bottle, but it happens often. One of the carbacaps seems to work better than the other two in this regard. Then there is a problem with pressing the ball check valve. I use…
