not sure why so many people struggle with this. works perfectly on the first try. I don't think the app is in the app store. I think you should get it directly from the link in the description on this page. I got it for use with an Android head unit but I don't really need it. I managed to get the head unit to work natively. which automatically makes Android obsolete. but that's not the point of this review. I was distracted.

I have been a car stereo installer for over 20 years. After recently installing an Android head unit in my VW GTI, I realized I wanted wireless CarPlay. I bought one of these poops and downloaded the app to my device. key connected. loads. never gives you the chance to mate. tries to contact a Facebook contact using the documents that came with the device. Nothing. it's been months. lame. Don't waste your time and money.

Allows your Android to connect to an Android car stereo (and possibly other car stereos). It looks and feels cheap, but when I set up my car stereo, Android Auto opens automatically. My iPhone 11 with the latest iOS version can use Carplay for Android car stereo (made by Corehan). I half-expected to have to replace the head unit with a new two-din stereo model to get the car playing. This thing works. This requires my iPhone to be connected to the USB to Lightning cable in the dongle, but at least it charges the phone (less than 1A - just enough to keep the battery from dying unless it will actually charged quickly).

Product idea is amazing, it worked great for me, but sometimes it takes a long time to connect to my LG tablet (sometimes 5 or 10 minutes). I've tried many charging cables, restarting the tablet, charging the tablet before plugging it in, but I don't know why it happens sometimes. Customer service phone, WhatsApp and Skype do not work for customer service. 4 stars because it's a fantastic idea and works amazingly (when I can plug it in).

I bought this dongle to use in a 2013 Acura RDX. I cannot replace a small factory head unit with an aftermarket unit.
