I needed some small parts and springs for the rear brakes of a Ranger I just took as a project. This set had everything I needed.

Everything worked fine except the wire was crimped an inch and a half too long. I had to pry it open with a hammer and a screwdriver and then squash it again with a hammer.

. before I go any further. will they stop me Will they stop me at all? will they save me Or will they dig my grave? Would you die in a fire to save a few bucks? Will those brakes save your life before you roll over the truck?!?! You must know now that if you buy these bras are they safe for your daughter? Excellent brakes. The whole package fits without a torch, cement mixer or chainsaw. The best part? Nobody died during the test drive.

Installed on a 2003 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 with 10" drums. The hardest part is getting the springs in and out. Get a drum brake tool and this is pretty easy power. You must return the brakes in the correct order, which will save you time and trouble. Clean the brake with brake cleaner before installation. Two items are not included in this kit: shock absorber and parking brake lever. You must clean and reuse the old ones, but that's not a problem, everything else is perfect and works like new.

Before installation, please make sure the parts you receive are exactly as shown. I received this kit and it is the correct part number but what was in the box does not match. I bought this for 2001 Ford Ranger 10" brakes. What came in the box was for a Chrysler minivan. I'm an ASE technician and have been using Carlson products for a long time with no problems. I see several people buying this used set, had problems or parts didn't fit together. This may explain why. Either they were packaged…
