I used these on a late 80's BMW E30 to replace the number plate light. These **DO*** LEDs cause lamp failures on the control display, so we built in external resistors. These LEDs make the rear of the car more visible at night. We can't say anything about the durability since they've only been installed for a few weeks.

These little bulbs are great for the overhead lighting on some older Jeep XJs and give you great visibility when scrambling around. They say "42mm" but are slightly smaller. I had to bend the garland's clips inward to hold the bulbs, no problem. Tiny extruded aluminum heatsinks help extend LED life; but they are so bright that I would advise you to turn them off if you have to leave the side doors open for hours; There is nothing to tempt fate, and the gods of heat are set loose!

Like many people looking to replace these bulbs in their dome lights and map lights in their cars, I have come across many LEDs that have many complaints. the rest in many ways. It's instantly brighter than most if not all of its competitors. It has a serious finned heatsink on the back. No flicker and no polarity (it's no big deal).
