Perfect replacement

I installed this cassette on a spare wheel set for my wife's bike. The original bike has a Sram cassette and the bike has Sram shifters. This cassette works just like the original. Ideal. I don't have to change tires before riding in the mud, now I just change the whole wheel.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Security

Works perfectly. Get the installation tools

The best part is my gears now shift and all 9 gears work 100%. Hooray. Worst of all, you have to buy a special tool to remove the old cartridge. I tried all the youtube hacks with the old chain etc and it didn't work. Got a removal tool that did the job. So two real options: 1) go to the store :) or 2) get this thing with the right tool (which is bigger than the cartridge itself).

Pros
  • Handy thing
Cons
  • Exchange availability

Good price good product

I may be late for the 9 speed game but I am happy with this cartridge. I was considering switching from my original 8 speed to a 10 or 11 speed, but the payoff would be noticeable in gear ranges I don't use often. Here on the Illinois prairie I spend most of my time with a large chain (44 teeth) and an 11, 13, 15 or 17 cassette. On particularly steep slopes only 30 and 34 gears are used (rarely). Works very well with the new shifters and rear derailleur and feels lighter in my hand than my old…

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

11-34T, 377g Cycling

It's hard to find the weight of the different versions of the hg400 cassette. I had 11-28 on my commuter bike. When I converted it to a gravel bike, I needed a bigger gearing to handle 18% loose gravel. For some reason it was in my head that the hg400 weighs 298 in the 11-34t version. This is very wrong and very difficult if not impossible to find online. According to various websites, 11-25t weighs 225g. Had I known, I might have jumped to a 310g SRAM equivalent. Yes, that's only 60 grams, but
