It really corresponds to the product description. I had a bad experience looking for a small wooden box with hinges and was pleasantly surprised that it matched the description on Revain.

I had to adjust a hinge to align the top. Surfaces are smooth, starting with 400 grit sandpaper and finishing with white or gray Scotchbrite. I usually paint and then use Minwax polyurethane spray coatings. Patience gives you a great finish.

Well made, durable and beautifully constructed. Perfect for small projects like pocket knives, earrings or small (medium size, maybe deck size), knick knacks etc. I use mine for handmade pocket knives and they are perfect. Unfinished so ideal for custom finishes such as stain or paint. The hardware is shiny like brass and works well. Excellent price.

Having previously measured out what to put in the boxes, these two boxes are perfect for storing, transporting and displaying fragile crystals. All I had to do was line up the box and put in the items I wanted. As for the boxes themselves, they were forged, not shards, with working hinges and a properly aligned latch. The hinges, while perfectly aligned and smooth, aren't the largest. I suspect I'll have to protect them again, but that won't be for a few months and I have the right tools to fix

I'm reluctant to give 3 stars. because it is an "unfinished" box. The hinges were mounted unevenly. There were extra holes due to the wrong position of the loops. The latch installed unevenly and barely engaged with the bottom half. Potholes, like after opening the transport bag. I understand this is a budget box that needs finishing, so I bought it.
