Not bad but needs a much better battery compartment design

Works quite well as a thermometer with fairly accurate readings. However, I have had to replace the batteries twice and this is probably the WORST battery case. I barely managed to pry it open with a nasty little screw at the end of the case and I had to arrange 2 button cell batteries in the correct order to carefully slide them back into the compartment. The second time the screw didn't come out of the slot and I broke the slot trying to pull the screw out to change the batteries. By the way,

Pros
  • Waterproof, unbreakable and recalibratable
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Too expensive for just one year!

At first I really liked it because it was so accurate. After a couple of months we got a beep that required replacing the batteries. Good, everything is fine. Sometimes they lie for a long time before they are sold. I can handle it, I thought! Getting to the battery compartment wasn't that easy. I was able to do this with a very small eyeglass screwdriver (Phillips). Replaced battery and nothing. I get no screen, no sound, nothing! It's just dead. I think it was too much money for the lack of…

Pros
  • Extra large backlit digit for low light conditions
Cons
  • Quick Start Guide

Works as advertised but has very poor instructions.

It's a little bigger than I expected but the thermometer seems to work well so this thermometer will do what you need. However, the instructions leave a lot to be desired. I assume it was written in a non-English speaking country. The imprint is very small. To replace the battery, you need to unscrew the screw, remove the cover and insert two batteries. That's it, and the only useful part of it is "remove the screw". It took a few minutes to figure out what to slide off. A few more, where to…
