IMPORTANT! You won't see Jupiter as big as in vanilla FirstScope.

IMPORTANT! You won't see Jupiter as big as in vanilla FirstScope. This version of the Cometron comes with non-Celestron FirstScope eyepieces bearing the astronomers' names (the "vanilla" FirstScope). The Cometron version comes with 20mm and 10mm eyepieces offering 15x and 30x magnification respectively. The vanilla version comes with 20mm and 4mm eyepieces offering 15x and 75x magnification. You can still see Jupiter and its moons with the Cometron version, but they look like stars. Despite the

Very cool for beginners like me

Short version: Cool for beginners and children, but not incredibly strong. Great introduction to the night sky, especially for the price. Long version: I have to admit, I'm just getting started. But I like it. I was looking for something that 1) wasn't expensive, 2) could be used by my kids, 3) was reasonably portable. Performance - I understood that this wasn't going to be the most powerful telescope, but that didn't bother me too much. The view of the moon is great and I can see the stars a…

The best binoculars and scopes for limited use

The Celestron First Scope looks good, is made of quality materials and is superbly finished, but the ergonomics and optical performance are disappointing. Ergonomics are good at large elevation angles of 60 to 90 degrees, but at lower elevation angles of 45 degrees or less you have to bend over the top of the scope to see the eyepiece, which is uncomfortable and often results in the scope breaking meeting. chest or abdomen. It would be much better to mount the eyepiece on the side of the tube…

A fantastic first sight to captivate young minds!

OK. Above all. It's not a Takahashi Sky 90. It's not a Dobsonian Obsession UC22". I have both of the above telescopes. Plus a Tak FSQ106EDXIII. I'm an amateur astronomer. Hell, I even have my own dome observatory in my backyard, so I wasn't expecting it that this little scope offers the views I'm used to.I bought the scope for my neighbor's 8 year old son but before I gave it to him I decided to test it in the sky of impressed. That's natural all just a 3" reflector. But the optical problems…

The best purchase in my life, I will definitely buy it again.

She herself dreamed of a telescope since childhood, finally she bought it, the budget was up to 4-6 My son is very happy and so am I. The image is quite clear, it magnifies well, it is easy to set up. Ground objects are generally viewed perfectly, the moon turns out well, all the craters are visible. Of course, you should not expect something incredible from him, it will do for a beginner.

Pros
  • Easy, understandable even for a child, the son uses it himself without my help. Neither I nor he had any experience, they figured it out quickly. Assembles in 5 min. The assembly is of high quality, glass optics, modest dimensions, just right for the table. We didn’t buy anything extra, the kit comes with 2 eyepieces, one magnifies by 15 times, the second by 75 times.
Cons
  • Not for this price
