requires some assembly but is not included. INSTRUCTIONS

The only instruction that comes with this POS is how to put a cell phone in a dumb holder how we can't understand or how I do this trick will apply. There are no instructions for anything else, how to assemble, how to set up, no specs, NOTHING. This disrespect towards the buyer and me is reason enough in itself to give a bad review. But there's another slap in the face: NO dust cover for sights. it's all plastic

Pros
  • 45° viewing angle for comfortable viewing for long periods of time
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Very good sight.

Not to brag, but we buy them for whale watching off our porch in Hawaii and other marine activities. We had a 60mm lens and it worked well, but in low light (at dusk or dawn) it didn't pick up enough light. Mathematically, an 80mm lens has about twice the light-gathering area of a 60mm lens. This is required to be displayed in the view. The optics are clean, settings and focus work well. There are two features that we really like. First, it comes with a phone holder so you can take photos and…

Fun, Simplicity, Quality Scope

I rarely review but this scope deserves one. This spotting scope is exactly what I expected - maybe a bit more because it didn't live up to disappointment expectations! It was easy to set up and even easier to read with no instructions (although I did later just to see if I got it right). The two photos I've included were taken within minutes of opening the box - and I've never used a scope before, well, not since I was a kid with a pirate toy or something. And maybe I was looking through a…

Pros
  • Rotating tripod mount allows you to change eyepiece orientation to get the best angle of view
Cons
  • Could have gone for a newer model

Disappointing - binoculars

I had to believe previous reviews that suggested the Celestron LandScout 20-60's magnification range is just over 2 to 1 , rather than the advertised 3 to 1. That means the actual range is 20x to 42x, NOT 20x to 60x. And I had to believe that anything over 30x is pretty much useless as it just adds blur. Moving the focus ring requires so much force that it's difficult to get accurate focus. And it's almost impossible to focus without shaking the scope. As if that weren't enough, the eye relief…

Pros
  • The included smartphone adapter allows you to take pictures and videos instantly through the scope
Cons
  • Reliability
