Not working for camera and photos

I've seen complaints about only being able to see black and this is our situation. Several people have tried to figure this out by following the instructions and suggestions on this page without success. Whatever the likely solution, it shouldn't be that hard! Dad's parting gift because it's a great hobby, but obviously it didn't work out.

Pros
  • Durable test results
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

Telescopes are pretty cheap

As they always say, you get what you pay for. This is a toy, not a telescope. I mean it works but the screws and parts are cheap and break easily. Don't expect it to last long. If you handle it very carefully it works and you can see objects well, but be careful not to lose the screw or accidentally tip it over as it can tip over easily. All the parts are cheap, so the price is like that.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Fits

Try a different telescope.

Bought to look at the stars. After reading the reviews and knowing my lack of knowledge I thought this product would be perfect. After several attempts, I couldn't see anything further than 50 meters. Binoculars would be better. Also, I've asked friends to try it and 6 college degree adults couldn't see anything on 4 separate occasions. The last lunar eclipse was my last attempt. What a waste!

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

My 56-year-old father was thrilled.

Bought this for my dad for Christmas. He was always a kid at heart, so I wanted to give him a gift that would spark his childlike curiosity. He uses it on his porch to watch the stars, alone and with his grandchildren. It's really amazing that you can give someone this kind of experience for this price. I'm sure there are better telescopes out there, but these are fantastic for the beginner or casual observer.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and chunky
