GREAT insulation and easy installation.

Great insulation, we bought this to insulate our cheap pasta cooker, it helped a lot to keep warm. Now we probably use 70% less gas.

Pros
  • Firebox accessory
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

since it looks like it's compacting something

Solved a problem I had with heat transfer from the bottom of my propane forge to the furnace below (part of the stand I made). This keeps heat transfer at a much lower level so the plate no longer warps on me. It also makes it safer to place other things on the shelf under the forge (about 8-12 inches from the bottom of the forge) without worry. I chose 1/2 inch thickness as I don't have a lot of space. work with. I used 1-1/2" thick corner iron to support the forge. Enough framing should beโ€ฆ

This blanket stinks a bit

The blanket helped keep my smoker's cooking chamber at a constant temperature, but it was covered with fibers. I always had to clean it every time I opened the lid or I would have fibers on my food. I threw it away and got a welding blanket instead. This works much better.

Pros
  • Kilns and Oven Accessories
Cons
  • I don't remember, but there was something

That's great!

I converted my oven from analogue to digital. I was concerned that since the control box is mounted on the side of the oven, the heat from outside the oven would destroy the electronics. With that ceramic fiber insulation between the oven and the electronics, I don't have to worry. It keeps most of the heat away from the electronics. I am very impressed with how lightweight yet effective this ceramic fiber is. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Handicrafts and sewing
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Does the job - Insulates to reduce heat, not eliminate it

Remember this insulation is only 1 inch thick. The metal can be placed on the other side with no issues with blisters or paint burn. It feels warm, but MUCH better than with little or no insulation. The insulation also shows no signs of wear (there is also a piece of steel between the fire and the insulation).
