Cannot be used for oil as it starts to burst everywhere. The flame is too close to the mold. We made Velveeta cheese in it, it was a little burned at the bottom but came off. This kept the cheese warm. I also didn't like that there was burnt cheese on the bottom. We have other shapes with higher holders. So we use them and leave the others for sauces.

We had a seafood congee and they were essential for our garlic oil. They were PERFECT! The packaging was very secure and the ceramic bowls were wrapped in such a way that they would not tear or break. Each bowl comes with 4 tealight sized candles that can be lit and will keep your butter sauce warm and delicious throughout the meal. It was a great purchase. If you are an avid seafood lover then this is a must! You will not be disappointed.

Nice appearance and good quality. During our dinner they were on my table. The included candles were lit and kept the oil nice and warm. Unfortunately it's too warm. All 4 started to burst. Oil started spraying everywhere. It ruins the tablecloth. My guess is that the cups are too close to the fire, causing the oil to boil. As much as I love her looks, I cannot recommend her.

Unfortunately they put the ceramic bowl too close to the candle flame and when I try to heat margarine or butter in it the liquid sometimes starts to burst and splatter even before it's all melted.
