Used for battery tenders. I soldered them carefully and then put on the supplied sleeves. Slide the sleeves onto the wires before soldering. The tension is strong and the grip is good. The reviewer said they warmed up spring in the process. I used a soldering iron, not a flame. Overall it looks stronger than the original. I recommend.

These clips make a great replacement for cheap Schumacher battery chargers. No matter how much Schumacher costs, you would think that the quality of every detail would be good. These clips are great for replacing, soldering and forgetting. Now I replace the factory clips with these when I take a new Schumacher out of the box. I highly recommend these clips.

Clamps seem decent enough I've used them with 12 gauge marine 2 strand wire to make an extension for my portable making solar panel.The "crimp" part really only fits. To release the tension I proceeded to solder the wire. I used a propane point torch and lead acid solder, just heated it for a few seconds, the solder flowed normally (I love soldering that silver plated marine wire!) but my goodness if one of the clips is (black) the spring has gone haywire and now it doesn't capture anything…
