This was a serious PITA replacement for my cabin filters, but it's not FRAM's fault. High quality filters and perfect fit for my car. Made a huge difference in air quality and airflow. I hope I never do that with this car again. LAUGH OUT LOUD

According to the product instructions, it takes 15 minutes to install. LOLOLOLOLOL. It's not Fram's fault. It was Mazda's idea to remove the glove box and all the wiring to get to these filters. More than two hours, even with a quality guide on YouTube.

Same as the one that came out. It just smells better. Installation isn't that easy, but I managed to do it in 20 minutes. Mazda should have used stainless steel screws here, and a clip instead of screws. It doesn't matter if it's finished. I'm glad the filter came right away and turned out to be correct. There were also a handful of leaves. There isn't even a screen to prevent this. The old filter smelled of mold.

I don't know why they designed the Mazda3 so that you had to completely remove the glove box, fuse box and fuse box bracket to replace a simple cabin air filter. Instead of taking less than 5 minutes like most cars, it's more like an hour. You might as well invest some money in a good replacement filter like this one. A year later, the air conditioner smells nice and fresh, like the first filter change.

I have a Mazda 3 and 5. I'm trying to just use them. They really freshen the air. Especially when the air conditioning is on in the summer. Also, the Mazda 3 does NOT require you to remove as much as the guy in the picture. Only the fuse/connector box under the glove box should come out. Inserting and removing this filter is still difficult, but doing it once a year isn't so bad. If you think these are bad, try replacing the PCV valve with them. Ha.

I thought it was a factory scent but they don't smell at all. I also didn't really understand why they cost three times as much as other filters you can buy here. Shortly after installation, however, I was stuck in traffic with the air conditioning on and there was absolutely no smell in the cabin. I opened the window and immediately the smell of exhaust and asphalt hit me. Now I know why they are more expensive but they are worth it.

This is exactly what you need for a Mazda 3 or 5 04-09 along with a Phillips head screwdriver (or preferably a small drill) and a 12mm DEEP ratchet. (The screws you need to use it on are inexplicably very long, a regular 12mm head won't fit. You'll probably need an extension too, the screw is probably tight and it takes a bit of effort to move it once pull it off, it's easier to unscrew it completely with your fingers).
