The smell is slight, almost imperceptible. I would have liked more flavor. I found a youtube video on how to replace it. Easy enough for those not so mechanically inclined.

Works great in our 2013 Kia Soul. Changes only about 15 minutes. The price is much lower than local stores. My wife smells better than a hound and she says it keeps the car interior clean and odor free. We change them twice a year.

For those of you who think this is one of those things you don't need to change, think twice and add this to your maintenance routine. Eliminates old odors and makes the air in the car interior fresher. Well worth the investment (I change mine every time I change the engine air filter).

Before I bought this filter, I watched some DIYers on YouTube doing the same thing with their Kia Souls. If you have never changed the filter, it will take much longer than 15 minutes.
