It may have been done wrong.

Purchased for a 2003 Nissan Xterra. When the filter is opened, it points the airflow in the wrong direction. If it was meant for my car, it wasn't done right. If it's not for my car, Revain got it wrong.

Pros
  • Arm & Hammer baking soda combined with charcoal cleans the outside air passing through the ventilation system
Cons
  • Can't remember

Filter with airflow misaligned

Filter airflow and guide bracket misaligned. If you follow the direction of the airflow, you can't fix it. If you fasten them in place, the airflow will go in the wrong direction. Choose a different filter. This is either poor quality control or incorrect labeling. In any case, charging more than $20 for such a simple component and not getting it right is ridiculous.

Pros
  • Prevents harmful particles from entering engine and causing excessive engine wear
Cons
  • Replaceable

Great addition to Gen 1 Xterra

I bought these to replace the ones on my Xterra as I bought it used and didn't know how long the current ones would last. That. The previous owner was a smoker so I wanted to throw out the old ones in case they contained carcinogens. SURPRISE, Gen 1 Xterra (2002) does not come with filters in the HVAC system. To install them you need to cut a slot in the heater/air conditioner block and insert them. Not as easy as just pulling out the old ones and replacing them with new ones, but not that hard

Pros
  • Filters up to 98% of dust, pollen and other contaminants
Cons
