🏠 Chamberlain PILCEV MyQ Remote Lamp Control - Effortlessly Manage Home Lighting using Remote Control or MyQ Technology (Sold Separately) Review

Works in conjunction with Liftmaster/Chamberlain MyQ. With a new software update on myliftmaster.com (or mychamberlain.com) you can now schedule on and off. It can be controlled with a regular garage opener, connected to a garage opener, controlled with a smartphone app, controlled with a PC app, or programmed as a timer. So far, two blocks are working stably. Pleases.

I wanted to hook up the garage exterior lights to a Chamberlain garage door opener light as wild animals often turn on the automatic exterior lights at night. I found this product to be a simple plug and play. As an added benefit, the kit also includes a remote control that, in addition to controlling the gate, turns on the light without closing the garage door. I am very happy with this product, it does everything I wanted and more.

Almost nothing is said about the compatibility of PILCEV with the car's built-in HomeLink. Called chamberlain customer service and was told it wouldn't work. [Wrong] Called HomeLink and they said "don't do it" but I couldn't find any specific instructions there for this device, at least not for my car model. I ended up using the instructions linked to "other" for a different car model from my automaker. Suffice it to say that you must be PATIENT and use the TRAIN button on the PILCEV.

Works but way more than needed and has a loose wire that acts as an antenna. You must also have a hub. DOES NOT WORK with ALEXA and, judging by Chamberlain's reviews, won't appear any time soon. Works with Apple HOME if you buy another type of hub from them. In short, I switched both to TP-Link. didn't need a hub, is smaller, has no dangling wires, and works better overall. Works great! I didn't sync it to the garage opener as I'd rather have them work independently. I'm home most of the time and there are dogs at the gate so I use the garage door opener as the door to the house and I don't want the light to come on every time I open and close the garage door. After just one day, so far so good. I used 3 for Christmas lights. I currently only use the MyQ app to schedule them (Chamberlain finally allows you to set a schedule for their lamp/light switch!) As for the remote, I have 3 other of the light switches I've bought and this it was working properly.
