Don't cut nails!

Didn't work for what we needed it for so we rated it lower - we were trying to clip nails sticking out of our basement ceiling. Finally with a bolt cutter.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Some maintenance

Very well made American product

I am very happy with this purchase. Initially I used it to cut off the screws that were sticking out from the other side of the wall. Made in America in Meadville, Pennsylvania. I recommend for quality and sharpness.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Older model

Helps remove nails quickly.

Use to clip nails. While it does not go through the nail, it clearly creates the necessary creases in the exposed shaft of the nail so that it can be broken very easily by twisting the pliers. May work even better on less strong nails.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Not all suitable

Not an instrument I would buy again.

Didn't help me. The cutting edge should be wider than the turning part so that longer nails can be inserted. I had gripping problems when trying to cut or pull out nails that were sticking out more than 1/2 inch from the wood. The cutting edge cuts small nails, but there are problems with large nails.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • Empty

Don't worry - take the best.

I use this product to remove stubborn nails from a finish I want to save. The handle is long enough to provide sufficient leverage while still fitting in a tool bag. The quality is exactly what you would expect from Channellock. Go ahead and get them, and buy them once. If you break them, you're working too hard!

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Long delivery time

great pliers for hand and power tools

I really like these pliers. Actually, I ordered them by accident. I'm a plumber and use them all the time to cut quarter inch wide bolts, like any channel lock product, it's good quality and will last a long time. I don't see any visible nicks or anything on the cutting faces, even after a lot of use, if for some reason you need a pair of giant wire cutters, get these, they'll get the job done

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Requires socket

very efficient. As always, wear safety goggles.

These little ones can chew on fairly thick nails. I hammered in some eccentric 3" galvanized frame nails, but it was too late to dig them up. She just chewed that thing up. You and the cut ends fly through the air until they hit something. EVERYONE IN THE AREA MUST WEAR GOGGLES WITHOUT EXCEPTION. 2. The cut surface faces slightly inward. Depending on your purpose, you can nail it back, file it, cut it all the way down with a dremel, or just leave it as is.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Great for Sheet Metal

There are a few Pittsburgh seam cutters in our shop but everyone agrees these are the best. I bought my own pair because I didn't feel like running around looking for a "store" pair. They're great for 18 gauge sutures (the heaviest I've used them on) or smaller Pittsburgh sutures if you mess up and need to reopen or demonstrate etc. I've also got them for clamping 5/16- sheet metal screws used. which prevented the correct operation of shock absorbers in the field when retrofitted. They worked…

Pros
  • Best in Niche
Cons
  • Short Manual
