I was surprised by the quality for the price.

Highly recommend for cooking in Chemex Burundi Gatukuza. Pros below: Great Chemex with a good metal filter. Now the morning ritual of making coffee has become even more foppish and enjoyable. Its cons: Of course, in a civilized modern society, such dishes should be distributed free of charge to every home, otherwise people do not know happiness.

Difficult to pour from carafe

Doesn't pour out but flows down the sides making a mess and a challenge. It will water properly if you water it mostly at once and quickly. I was very surprised that this item cannot be returned. The biggest disappointment. I was very excited when I first saw it and read some of the reviews. It's clear that I had to read both the bad and the good. I've never bought anything from Revain that couldn't be returned - a lesson I learned the hard way!

Pros
  • High tester ratings for grip and durability
Cons
  • Could have gone for a newer model

NOT HANDMADE: Kitchen & Dining

Like other reviewers, this is not handcrafted. The box says it is a Classic with model number CM-8A. I just broke my classic 8 cup Chemex that I've had for 5 years and this new one isn't quite the same. First, there's no seam here like my old one, and there's a "CHEMEX" stamp on the bottom of the pan. My alter has an "X" shaped logo cast in glass. These changes appear to be an update they recently made. In any case, it is not manual work and costs about twice as much. Revain has been good with…

Every new buyer makes sure to switch from hand blown to classic

I should have got 8 cups hand blown Chemex $82 But instead I got classic 8 cups, Classic is $36 and I saw as so often in According to Revain reviews, it should be very easy for someone to tell the difference between a Classic and a hand-blown, mouth-blown one that's two or three times the weight of the Classic. Right now I'm trying to contact Revain for an $82 refund and I've already ordered a new $82 handmade device which I hope to receive on Thursday. But by the way, I already have a classic…

Great item it's real too

We bought the classic and the hand blown to compare, they are totally different and the quality is obvious. The mouth-blown (13 cups) is thick, heavy, and significantly less prone to breakage. The Classic is thinner, has a larger hem and an uneven length of decanter rim near the spout. The hand-blown has a seam, although much thinner than the classic counterpart. The classic is lighter and sounds different when tapped, and it also burns your hand if the coffee has just been brewed. All in all…

Great coffee, best in kitchen and dining room

I have used both espresso and keurig coffee makers and a french press to make morning coffee but they all fall short of chemex for making great coffee. Yes, it takes a little longer to pour water over the ground beans several times, but it's worth it. Too many things in life require instant gratification, but we must learn to take our time and appreciate life. Chemex takes patience and time, but the end result is a great tasting coffee. Also, I only use whole beans and coarsely grind them just…

Always the perfect cup!

My husband has one at home that we use every day. I bought a smaller version for my house about two years ago (I stay home about half the time) that lasted about six months (maybe less time) before it broke. I recently bought this much thicker glass. Be sure to read the label and model number, the classic isn't as thick as this one to my knowledge. Hand blowing is what you need. While mine is new, my husband has had his for years with teenagers around the house and is still alive and well…

Ok but not great!

Chemex makes great coffee! No contact with plastic or aluminum. This is a great non-toxic way to have a cup of coffee. It's tricky to cast though (requires 2 hands) and the wood and leather collar is a pain in the ass. I clean the pan every day and removing and then reinstalling these parts is a headache. I emailed Chemex customer service and suggested they make a silicone collar that doesn't need to be removed for cleaning. They reacted quickly but behaved abusively. It is stated that they…

Worth buying for a made car

Like others I bought an inflated manual and got a classic one. However, Revain have responded well to the return and I can confirm that I received the correct item when I reordered. As for the coffee maker itself, I'm not going to convince anyone. I'm just here to help anyone who is wondering if premium crafting is worth it. When I use it, I'll say yes. The design differs slightly from the so-called classic. This one seems a little bigger (I'd swear 8 cups is closer to 10), but more importantly

Pros
  • Useful not only for its intended purpose
Cons
  • Some little things

Easy, fast, great coffee.

Let's first answer the main question: Yes, this article produces wonderfully soft coffee. And with a little experimentation, you can determine how much ground coffee you need for one to six cups, and make it as strong or soft as you like. I like dark coffees like Starbucks Sumatra and they make a very rich dark cup of coffee without the bitterness of my traditional coffee pot. It's good. Filters cost about 12 cents each, which is perfectly acceptable, and I'm 95% sure you can use regular cone…
