I use this rubber stopper in combination with a glass lid. It's not a perfect seal, but it sits well in the Chemex throat. The rubber stopper itself keeps my coffee a little warmer, but not for long. In combination with a lighter/tea cosy, my coffee stays hot/warm for hours. I probably don't need a glass lid, but I like the look and use it to hold the rubber stopper in place when pouring. Yes, you need both hands to pour anyway.

With the purchase of Chemex you have already made the right decision. Getting this cork is another good decision. This helps keep your coffee warm. I don't even need cozy like the others. This cork alone keeps my coffee warm for 45 minutes to an hour. This is usually more than enough time for all participants to drink more than one cup. But as others have said, if you need coffee for longer, coziness helps too.

Don't expect it to pour well when you use it in a 34 ounce double wall Bodum carafe. It has to be held with the other hand and has a tiny hole, resulting in a miserable jet. My little dog has a bigger current than this thing! However, Chemex has a good pouring channel and should do better. The seller mentions Bodum in the description but it really suits Chemex better. The main thing I don't like about this product is that I paid for it. There is no reason you would ever need the work this product is designed to do. Seriously you don't need a lid for your coffee with Chemex, one of the benefits of the design is how much better the coffee gets when it's reheated. I usually just set it on low but the lid is just unnecessary, a waste of money. Also, the thing just falls out when you pour the last cup. The shape of the Chemex is more likely to blame, but this…
