They would be great, as would my other Chicago Cutlery knives. HOWEVER, this will be the second set I've bought RUSTY. Garbage.

Excellent knives, used daily since 2008 and still working. There are no problems as I have only had to sharpen twice since purchasing it.

Shining knives - small, strong, sharp, thin, hideous. Good price! Stable! The packaging is a scary show. I had to work long and hard, using strong scissors to cut the package into 19 small pieces to get the knives. Ridiculous.

I have a similar kit that I really like. This keeps them sharp and works well. I assumed they were of the same quality. You are not. The blades are thick, bulky and not as comfortable as I expected. I would not recommend these. I wouldn't buy them if I knew their quality.

These knives were $3.99 and I bought them at a $25 discount with a $125 back sale. I really like them because the blades are thick and very sharp and the quality is very good. I used one of these to open boxes today, no problem. I don't think knives are weak like one reviewer said. Although the handles are plastic and colorful, they are of a much better quality than many plastic-handled knives I've seen. And again for less than $4, who can beat that.

I ordered these knives and they got rusty after a few uses. I called the company, they said I didn't dry them well and they would send a cleaning product that will remove rust. Well, I dried them thoroughly. After several calls to the company; that NO cleaner has arrived. A few months later they sent me a new set of the same knives. Leave unopened. Difficult for people with arthritis; and the handle is made larger for a man. Not comfortable in hand; even if they are grooved for the fingers.

So sharp I cut myself the first time I used it. I must have been thinking about my OLD knives that I gave to someone else. This little set was such a good buy! I am very impressed and didn't think I would like the colored pens. I do! You can pull them out of the block very easily and you can tell which knife it is from the color.
