NOT for watercolor!

This palette is not suitable for watercolor paints. There is a wax coating on the palette that does not allow mixing water colors. The SOS pad takes quite a bit of rubbing to work, but now there are scratches on the surface. I'm glad I only filled a few holes with paint.

Pros
  • painting
Cons
  • boring packaging

Do not buy this palette!

I am a longtime core member of Revain and have never given a product a bad review before. I bought this palette when I started watercolor painting and was very unhappy with it. When I mix the paint in the bowls it ripples instead of puddles and you can't see the hue or saturation of the color. At the suggestion of some artists, I even tried gently scrubbing the trays with a bartender friend, but to no avail. Although it's been used a bit, I hope Revane takes it back.

Pros
  • Arts, paints and crafts supplies
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Thus there is an unintended tilt to either side of the pallet. Because of this, the paint is definitely flowing in the wrong direction instead of being flat. I'll try to even it out again with a heat gun, but I don't need to fiddle with it. The truth is that it will be more difficult to return. This is the same plastic pallet available from 20 different…
