I was surprised by the heavy metal construction, just like a quality letter punch. The paper guide is made of the same hard but slightly pliable plastic as the paper hole. I can see how it can bend or warp if you're not careful to feed it in evenly and straight, but if you're punching through A5 paper you still won't pull it out all the way. I took a chance when it first came out because I was so disappointed with other '6' hole punches' that had to be adjusted and took so long I thought I'd risk it. I'm excited I did it. I have an A5 planner that I love and I'm sick of the hassle of putting holes in my custom pages.
