I bought a used espresso machine at a bargain price but there was coffee residue around the portafilter spout and it was frankly awful. Put one of these tablets in a portafilter, run hot water over it, and all those nasty coffee scum and oils will completely dissolve in it. Thoroughly clean the portafilter and basket every 1-3 months.

interesting that my espresso machine came with it and on my machine they had to go through a cleaning cycle 3 or 4 times before they went away = neck pain. I ordered new ones anyway because they were recommended for Breville machines and the new ones are MUCH better. Dissolves in just one cleaning step. I haven't had the car long enough to know if it really works to clean or protect the car, but it's easy to use and a lot cheaper than the Saeco cleaner my other car uses.

Looks like the same piece of equipment originally supplied with the machine by the manufacturer. The function of this tablet seems to be the same. I could not find any differences to the original tablets.
