I'm closest to the French Press:

. In my opinion, the French Press sets the standard because it produces the smoothest, most flavorful cup of coffee (I think), and it's the closest I've ever tried to come. found without having to deal with cleaning. :-) I had the plastic version and was happy with it, but after a while it discolored and the e-liquid release mechanism failed after x uses. I am happy with the glass version as it looks like it will last longer and hopefully not get dirty. I also think it's more plastic. Thanks…

It's good enough: kitchen and dining room

I bought it for its aesthetics, for the design so to speak. Clever is a good way to brew coffee, especially if you're new to brewing. Clever is what I recommend for anyone just starting their coffee brewing adventure when it seems like they don't want to make too much coffee. This is an immersion process, not a percolation process. There is a great video on YouTube by James Hoffman showing how to use Clever. Although honestly I would prefer the plastic Clever to that. The filter paper sits…

Good idea, bad design

I really liked the idea of an intelligent glass pipette. Even if the new design leaves a lot to be desired. The silicone liner connecting the plastic-based glass funnel to the valve makes it very impractical to use traditional paper filters with this new device - the filter is partially supported by silicone "wings", leaving space between the filter and the base . Funnel for draining coffee. In all other similar designs, this is achieved by the 'ribbed' surface of the funnel, which in this case

Great upgrade from the plastic version

I really like the design of the glass dropper. It has a little more weight, less rattle, and the bottom-end characteristics are different enough to require less vertical movement to actuate the piston. It also fits a cup that a plastic smart dropper won't fit: my 600ml Keith Titanium cup. I don't have a tape measure around so I can't measure the diameter, but it's the same as the 600ml Snow Peak Titanium mug. The glass doesn't feel brittle at all, it's slipped out of my hand while cleaning and…

  • Sturdy construction

I have V60, Chemex, Aeropress, espresso maker and french press. This is by far the best coffee maker I have ever used. I love filter coffee and dipping makes sense. So I tried to make it by brewing it in a glass carafe and then pouring it through a V60 cone. That helped, but it made the coffee cold and the flow on the V60 was incredibly slow - it felt like the fine ground particles were clogging the pores, which doesn't happen when I brew directly into the V60. . But I noticed more flavors. So…

Great dip / pour coffee maker!

I love my Clever coffee maker with glass dripper! My friend has a $150-250 Goat Story Gina and I liked that it had a control valve. It was the best device I could find with a valve and I honestly think I like it better than my friends expensive device. Bought a carafe to go with my Clever, freshly roasted coffee, scales for accurate measurements and a good kettle. I have excellent results. I've found that the coffee comes out a bit more bitter than my French press for the same grind size and…

Downgrade from original

I have been using Clever for many years, it is my favorite brewing method. If you're looking at this more expensive device like I am, you're probably trying to avoid using plastic in your cooking. Even though Clever is BPA-free, it seems like more and more bad things are being found in plastic. So, despite some criticism, I decided to try the new glass model. In short, this is a step backwards. The biggest problem is that the glass walls are so smooth that it doesn't support the paper filter…

The lack of solid glass doesn't make up for design flaws

If you're like me, you might be looking for ways to reduce plastic's contact with the things you consume. While almost everything is now labeled BPA-free, the replacement BPS that was introduced in its place is just as questionable when it comes to possible long-term health effects and high temperatures (e.g. very hot water for you). Morning coffee!) any plastic decomposes faster than the environment or cold. To you, that's a regular coffee maker, but then there's no reason to buy it when…
