This is the second one I have bought for the locomotive heater fan. 36 volts to 12 volts to start the heater blower motor. The small size makes it easy to install almost anywhere.

Good block. I hooked it up to a 12 amp hour lithium iron phosphate battery which normally outputs around 13.5 volts. The output voltage of this device is 12.22 volts. has no problems. .

I use four 20 volt drill batteries connected in parallel (with built-in fuses) and reduced to 12 volts. At 20 amps I feed 12 volt lights and devices from it. The boost tank works well, it doesn't seem to get hot. It will convert a higher DC voltage if I ever need it.

Thought this thing would help. NO! AC noise on 12V output is out of range. Place my storage area at the exit after the fluke gauge jumped a lot. WOW, what a mess! A very low frequency burst that drives my IP cameras crazy. If they don't have a solution soon, I suggest you stay away from this seller. Yes, I am an electronics engineer and have the appropriate test equipment. Sometimes you are lucky and sometimes not!

I recently built my own battery using Li-ion batteries. When fully charged, the battery is 16V. Although I should have used LifePo4 batteries to get a reliable 12V battery, I decided to try one of those instead. Worked great for what I needed to do. It held a good 12V as the batteries discharged from 16V to the 11V threshold I set, and didn't get very hot either, although it only drew 12A from it. Although it's a little larger than I expected, it did its job well.
