Wonderful!: Sewing Tools

I think yellow is my favorite. It shows on all colored fabrics and prints except yellow and washes out easily. Very professional lines. This is the only chalk I use.

Excellent color and texture for marking patterns

This yellow color is an excellent choice for marking dark or light fabrics. This happens smoothly, although sometimes you have to slide back and forth to get a stronger line. Much cheaper than some of the other options and really makes pattern marking easier.

Warning, this material leaves stains!

This fabric will discolour your fabric, so only use it in invisible areas (e.g. on the wrong side of the fabric or inside the seam allowance). I used it to mark a stitch line on the top of the quilt and ended up with ugly yellow stains that didn't go away. I've tried every suggestion I could find on the internet to remove it such as a combination of water and vinegar, a wash with detergent, a stick for heavy water stains etc (it was white so it won't damage the paint). I *really* don't know why

Do not use yellow on light colored fabrics

Just finished a quilted diaper bag, using yellow chacoliner to mark the sewing lines on the light green piping. I am so disappointed that the chalk is NOT coming out. I've tried wiping it down with white vinegar and cold water to remove it, just dish soap with hot water - literally nothing completely removes the lines. There is still a faint but very noticeable yellow line on the straps. He ruined my bag and I am so disappointed that all the time, effort and money that went into this gift is…
