I replaced the timing kit on my 1997 Vortec 5.7 and the chain is really loose. It was looser than the 280,000 mile original! Total bullshit, and unfortunately I'm past the return deadline. Made in China!

glad I installed a new timing chain when replacing the timing cover. I've noticed a big difference in performance. I drove another 100 miles on one tank. The old timing chain exceeded 200 thousand. Tahoe sounds very quiet. Throttle response is quick, no lag.
