clean hole for drill

Cuts a nice clean hole, I wanted a parasol with no table, used it to drill a hole in 2x6 with a screw through one end that was attached to the top of the deck rail. I used this to drill a hole for an "umbrella" pole on top of another. The 2x6 easily folds out for use and folds back in when not in use, perfect for keeping the rain out while grilling.

Pros
  • 2 spurs, 2 precision-ground cutting edges, lasting cutting performance.
Cons
  • I'll post later

Drills the smoothest holes you've ever seen.

Was a little apprehensive about buying a used Forstner bit but it came in the original packaging and worked like clockwork. Much cheaper than buying new (almost $10). It was a throw away item to install a weather station mount on my deck. My particular drill came from an Italian company but was (of course) made in China.

Pros
  • For drilling partially overlapping flat bottom holes or recesses for mounting poles.
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Does the job in power tool parts and accessories

I haven't used other forstner bits to compare but was hoping for cleaner holes overall. No saw cuts appear to come out of the hole either clean like the others I've seen in the videos posted Overall it was good value for money although it cost less than most other bits of this size and if you don't use it in professional projects where the very best is needed, it should work well.

Pros
  • 3-35/64" overall length, clockwise rotation.
Cons
  • Out of date
