Looks good, looks cheap. The design is questionable.

All headlights work but the set screw that holds the headlights to the base does not work. The entire block is tilted so the bolt doesn't have much traction and too much force will deflect the entire block back out of its socket. The result is either tight or flush. You can't get both. Don't expect it to be weatherproof at all. The body is made entirely of aluminum and is held in place by hex head screws. There is no padding material or insulation.

Bought in July 2017. Already defective.

Purchased in July 2017. Noticed for the past few weeks that it is not that bright in the area it has been used in. When I checked, a third of the bulbs stopped working. Always use the supplied power cord. The rest of the work lights went out. I never installed it outside as it didn't seem like it would hold up to the weather. Put it behind a window a few inches away and it worked great. Now it's not so good. Just slightly better than a camera. I would not recommend this product with such a…

Does the job and doesn't cost a fortune

This 850nm IR illuminator is the best value I've found. I needed lighting that would boost the IR of my existing cameras and provide good lighting out to 100 feet. Other manufacturers claim their emitters work at this distance, but to be honest I'm not sure what threshold they base that claim on. The photo sensor works perfectly, detecting sunrise and sunset and switching off and on when the appropriate light level is reached. The case is solid and the mount is AMAZING. Indeed, this support…

Quality control total failure

The promise of 200-300 feet of illumination may be untenable under a full moon, but in real life you're lucky if you get that much 200 feet. The unit I purchased meets my needs (about 100ft) but the IR web arrived with about 10% of the bulbs not working - see attached photo. I was also disappointed with the quality of the small parts, like the mounting screws and the Allen key to adjust the angle. The Phillips screws became a mess and fell off during installation - I had to use my own screws…

Outstanding Best IR Illuminator

I bought this IR Illuminator to extend the range of my Nest Outdoor Cam. I think the photos accompanying this comment speak for themselves, but I have to say I'm totally impressed. -- BENEFITS -- Extremely durable, professional build quality -- Easy to install; comes with mounting hardware. Very bright. Automatic on/off depending on the light level. When the sun goes down, this happens. Doesn't seem to be fooled by flashlights. perfect for a camera with a mic - incredibly affordable at around…

If you are not an electrician.

I bought two identical lamps. The first still works fine. The lighting distance is normal, around 80-90 feet, which is what I need. I wanted a wider coverage area at the same distance. A light gives too narrow a spread, so I bought an extra lamp. The top photo of the car in the driveway is a ring light camera using its own built in IR source. Added to the bottom photo is one of these IR lights, set up under the same eve about 5 feet to the left of the camera's field of view. The second light…

Almost as bright as daylight

I wasn't sure if this would work with my security cameras (ZP-IBT15-S) as I assumed the wavelength would be in the nanometer range. As soon as I received it, I did a test the evening before installation and I was thrilled. These lights are super bright! The lights cover my entire driveway (120 feet long) and a mailbox that I've never been able to see at night before because of the camera's IR LEDs. However, it looks like a flashlight. It would be better to bulge the protective box outwards to…
