You NEED a cutting mat with measuring lines and a spinning blade before attempting to cut this. I don't have these things and have long tried to measure and cut a straight line with scissors. I messed up the first piece, but I lined up the remaining pieces on my hardwood floor, using the line between the boards as a guide; obviously not perfect so take my advice and use the right measuring and cutting tools.
