The overall design is great. Some sections require advanced assembly techniques, particularly the 2nd piece/bag. However, the base (Bag 1) is great. The model is ideal for display (scale 1:48, so not suitable for FULL-BODY LXXX or Cobi minifigures anyway). There were no scuffs or scratches on the shiny figures - excellent! And no stickers!

Overall I am very impressed with this set. The construction technique used to create the non-vertical camber of the engine intakes is very cool and well done. All of this suggests that the nose cone is wrong. It's slightly longer and sharper than the real thing, reaching a point below the midline of the nose rather than being more symmetrical. It changes the feel of the front of the plane from the combative silhouette of a real bird to a more European design. I wonder if they reused the nose…

Wow. OK. I might be a bit biased, but watching Top Gun as a kid made me fall in love with the F-14 Tomcat. I was 7 years old and totally into LEGO and I kept asking my parents when will I ever get an F-14 toy? Sure, there were Ertl's Force One Die Cast models, but I loved LEGO and really wanted a buildable version. To my dismay, this was never implemented. Fast forward 35 years and now we have the COBI F-14 Tomcat kit. I still love building blocks and now I share that passion with my 7 year old
