Kobe works for less money.

This tablet works as advertised. The resistive touchscreen takes some getting used to, but is manageable. The Android Market is not available, but you can find pretty much anything you need in terms of apps through the Revain Appstore and Getjar. I researched tablets and researched tablets to find one in the <=$200.00 range and after reading many reviews and comparisons I settled on the Coby Kryos. After using it for a month, I think it was a good choice. First off, I needed a good ebook…

Strongly disappointed!

I bought this unit as a Christmas present for my mother-in-law. I charged the device before she opened the gift so she can use it after opening her gift. Charging the device with the included AC charger was normal. Came down the hill from there! A few days later she opens her gift and of course likes to use it like everyone else. It took us about an hour to get Wi-Fi working. I basically had to hard reset the device to get the Wi-Fi error message gone and available wireless networks to appear…

Better than I had hoped.

When I was looking for a tablet, I was mainly looking for a cheap e-reader. Well, on a whim I checked out the Coby Kyros and saw that not only would it work for my purposes as an e-reader, but it would also play NetFlix, surf the web wirelessly, and of course do everything Android tablets do. The 8-inch tablet cost $169, and I felt the tablet was worth the risk. I waited a full ten days to get my new "toy” in the mail. It finally arrived but I had to be at work in 30 minutes which meant I had…

OK Tablets Computers and Tablets

This is for the Coby Kyros 8125 4G 8 Inch Tablet for $158. It's a pretty good tablet for the money, with lots of stuff available through the AppLib Marketplace and GetJar. You can hack it to gain access to Andriod Market, but it's probably easier to just go to Andriod Market on the web, which is more up-to-date anyway. The problem is that most Andriod Mark apps want to verify what phone you have and won't load without a valid device, so it's not that good at the moment. NetFlx won't work with…

Review of Coby Kyros 8-inch MID8125

Before buying a tablet, I did some research and decided on the Coby Kyros 8-inch MID8125. So far, so good. As a college student on a budget, I can say this was a very good purchase. I can do pretty much anything I can do on any other tablet for a lot less. I can use it as an e-reader (with a downloaded Kindle app or to read PDFs stored on a micro SD card I bought for about $5), watch movies, listen to music, surf the internet and much more. The touchscreen works great with most functions I've…

A good tablet for my purposes.

An 8 inch Kyros tablet running Android 2.3.4 is just that. When buying it, don't expect the same features as the Motorola Xoom or Apple iPad. If you need these features, consider spending another few hundred dollars on one of these. However, if you're looking for an inexpensive alternative that lets you surf the web, check email, and do other light calculations, this is a great little tablet for that. It has enough processing power and RAM to handle these tasks and remains more user-friendly…

Coby Kyros mid8125 * Great mid-range tablet at a great price *

I bought a Coby Kyros mid8125 for my wife a few months ago and am very happy with my purchase. I did a lot of research to make sure I got the size she wanted (that's 8 inches) and that the tablet still has enough power to comfortably handle most tasks for a mid-range tablet! And people should remember, this isn't a high-end iPad or Samsung Galaxy. The Coby Kyros mid8125 comes with a very decent 1GHz processor and 500MB RAM and for a tablet in this price range these are very good specs and games

Not worth the money.

So I read all the reviews and researched a lot about this tablet and decided to buy this tablet for my 6 year old daughter to play all the games she usually plays with my phone. Of course I had to run the tablet several times and get most of the games for her before I could give it to her. In short, don't waste your money on this tablet. It's terribly slow, even with a stylist, the screen response time sucks. It wouldn't read any of my many micro SD cards, the Wi-Fi would constantly stop…
